Where students can make friendships, and build a lasting relationship with God.

Neon Hello

What It's All About

The Path Youth Group seeks to bring middle school and high school students together as they learn to build their relationship with God and the rest of the Body of Christ.  Each person has been uniquely gifted by the Holy Spirit and has been designed by God to function as part of the larger Church Body.

The Leaders

Josh Hammer has served in youth groups for over 7 years, both for middle school and high school.  Josh has also taught Sunday school, lead small groups, as well as mentored youth on Summer Mission teams.  Married for 13 years, with 3 kids, and working as a medical Social Worker, Josh loves to connect with others.  Things you wouldn't obviously know about Josh when you meet him: he loves Christian rap, uni sushi, and at one time had over 10 piercings.

Sheila Hammer has been involved with the church since childhood and has served in many different capacities.  She has been married to Josh since 2008, and fiercely loves her three children.  She moved here with her family to help start The Path Church due to her love for the people of the Navajo Nation and those in Flagstaff.  She has her Masters of Social Work degree and worked in oncology for a decade before transitioning to teaching social work students at NAU.  Things you wouldn't obviously know about Sheila: she's a semi-extroverted introvert, has three sisters, loves crafting, and double majored for undergrad in Deaf Studies and Sociology, finishing in three years with no debt, until grad school.
